CSAM Protocol pilot session with the National Coordinator for SIC
The First Children’s Embassy in the World – Megjashi, in partnership with the organization IMPETUS, within the framework of the project “Safer Internet Centre – MKSafeNet”, conducted this week a pilot testing of the draft protocol for handling cases of digital violence, with a particular focus on CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material).
The event opened with remarks by the State Secretary from the Ministry of Digital Transformation, who emphasized the importance of a coordinated and systemic approach to protecting children and young people in the digital space. The project coordinator presented the achievements to date, as well as the key steps in the process of establishing the Safer Internet Centre.
The workshop brought together nominated members of the Coordination Body of the Safer Internet Centre, including representatives from relevant institutions. A significant part of the activity was dedicated to practical work based on real-life scenarios and reports. Participants worked through concrete cases—from receiving a report, through coordination and response, to appropriate escalation procedures.
Throughout the day, the activity was supported by a regional expert from the Safer Internet Centre in Albania, Mr. Altin Hazizaj (CRCA / ECPAT Albania), CRCA / ECPAT Albania who shared guidance and recommendations based on international and regional best practices.
This pilot marks an important step towards establishing a functional and coordinated system for receiving and handling reports of digital violence, while strengthening the role of the Safer Internet Centre and the helpline “AloBushavko” as key protection mechanisms.
Through joint participation and exchange of experience, the activity laid the foundation for further development of a coordinated, timely, and effective approach to protecting children and young people in the digital environment.
