SIC Best practices – Visit to Zagreb
During our visit to Zagreb, we had the opportunity to meet with the Safer Internet Centre (SIC) team and gain insights into their operational model and services.
Despite initial travel disruptions, the meeting provided a valuable overview of how SIC structures its work across key components — including helplines, awareness activities, and stakeholder coordination. Discussions focused on operational procedures, service capacity, funding models, and the practical challenges of ensuring sustainable and responsive support for children and young people online.
The exchange highlighted the importance of stable funding, clear protocols, and strong institutional cooperation in delivering effective online safety services.
These insights are particularly relevant for strengthening national approaches and building integrated, resilient systems for digital child protection.
