Call for Proposals: Translation & Proofreading Services (EN→MK)
1. Background
IMPETUS, alongside with partners in the SMART Labor project, will develop up to 100 pages of content the project “Smart Skills in Agri‑Food Education.” We now invite proposals to translate these materials from English into Macedonian and to proofread the final texts.
2. Objectives
- Translate all source text (≤ 100 pages) accurately and naturally into Macedonian language
- Proofread for grammar, flow, consistency, and correct usage of agri‑food terminology, alongside the educational framework
- Provide a brief glossary of key terms in Macedonian language and consult where necessary when developing the content
- Provide ongoing translation support if other partners from SMARTLABOR project request EN to MK, BiH to MK, SRB to MK.
3. Scope of Work
- Volume: At least two documents, modules, short survey content, combined ≤ 100 pages (ca. 25,000 to 30,000 words words)
- Services:
- Initial translation EN→MK
- One round of proofreading/copy‑editing
- Light formatting to mirror original layout (Word)
- Simple glossary (Excel or Word table)
- Corrections, if requested upon approval of documents
- Ad-hoc translation service for project’s need
4. Timeline & Deliverables

5. Desired Qualifications
- Native‑level Macedonian with strong English comprehension
- Preferably with background in education materials development and learning frameworks/competencies
- No formal certifications required, but relevant experience will be valued
- Experience translating general or technical materials (agri‑food a plus)
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
6. Proposal Submission

- Brief CV or profile (1–2 pages)
- Short description of your approach (including glossary method)
- Rate (per word or flat fee) and any extra costs
- One sample of previous translation (any topic, up to 200 words)
7. Selection
We welcome proposals from:
- Individual translators or agencies
We will review proposals based on:
- Educational background
- Competitive pricing
- Quality of sample translation
- Clarity of approach and timetable
8. Contract Terms
- All deliverables are the property of SMART Labor Project
- Payment: upon delivery and final acceptance
